    Coronavirus: Information for U.S. businesses

    The US-China Business Council has made their Coronavirus Information Center available to the general public, not just Council members.



    In the current media and political environment that tends to pit China and the US against each other as enemies, it is heartening to see real, practical help being offered by US organisations to China. America and China have more in common than they do differences.


    Some recent highlights:

    US Private Sector Airlifts Medical Supplies to China to Fight Coronavirus: The US-China Business Council (USCBC), the National Committee on US-China Relations and the George H. W. Bush Foundation for US-China Relations have organized a shipment to China containing much needed medical supplies, including 2 million masks. via USCBC


    US companies pledge millions in aid: Despite a bitter and protracted trade war with China, US-based multinational companies are pledging millions of dollars to support relief efforts during the coronavirus epidemic, with donations from surgical masks and gowns to food and research for a vaccine. via NBC


    CMI: Combatting Coronavirus: Commercial Lessons from SARS

    The current novel coronavirus outbreak poses several challenges for companies in affected areas and their employees. Lessons learned during the 2003 SARS outbreak can inform some commercial best practices. Companies that have contingency plans for closures and quarantines will have a head start coordinating next steps.  Read more
